About

Bonjour! My name is Gaby.

I am a wife, a mother to three incredible kids, an avid baker, and a Francophile.

I was born to a French mother and an American father. I spent my summers with my family in France, where I was immersed in the French language, culture, and authentic way of life there.

My family connection, as well as my time spent in France, has fueled my love for everything French!

Here, I will share my recipes, travel tips, and French inspiration with you.

Whether you are taking your first trip to France, or you are an established Francophile, you’ve come to the right place.

Some fun facts about me:

I love helping people discover Provence by giving advice and recommendations on where to go, what do….

I’m a little obsessed with antique copper. So much so that I have been known to bring multiple copper pots home in my luggage!

I’ve lived in New Orleans for the past 20 years.

My family is from Léguevin, which is about 20 kilometers west of Toulouse.

Thanks for stopping by!

Goult is one of my favorite villages in the Lubero Goult is one of my favorite villages in the Luberon. It’s small, and lesser known, which makes it less crowded and very charming.

The moulin at the top of the village has little walking trails leading away from it, into the countryside, that are great for evening walks. It is centrally located in the “golden triangle” which makes accessing other, more popular villages, very easy.

It’s a little hidden gem.

It is a bit of a hike up to the old chateau, but it is totally worth it. The views are impeccable, and photos just don’t do it justice. You have to see it for yourself.

Here are a few things you should know before going Here are a few things you should know before going to a grocery store in France:

1. Make sure you have a coin handy. You will need it to get a shopping cart. Most carts will take a 50 cent. 1 euro or 2 euro coin.

2. Bring your reusable grocery bags. Bags are not provided in France. If you forget, there are bags at the register for purchase. They typically cost 1.5 to 2 euros.

3. When buying produce, look around for a scale with a label printer. A lot of grocery stores have this. But, some don't. If you see this, you will need to weigh your produce, select it from the menu, print out a label, and affix it to the bag. You won't be able to buy it without a label.

4. If you are looking for Organic food, look for items labeled BIO.

5. You will have to bag your own groceries at the cash register. So, have your shopping bags ready. If you have forgotten them, purchase bags at the register first, so that you can fill them up as the cashier rings you up.

6. Once you are done with your shopping cart, bring it back to the stall, and retrieve your coin by hooking the cart up to the one in front of it.

I hope this helps! Happy shopping.
Market days in Provence are the best days. I love Market days in Provence are the best days. I love seeing all of the beautiful fresh produce, fresh flowers, and Provençal textiles.
I love them so much that I plan my visits to certain villages based on their prospective market day. 💕
Designated as one of the most beautiful villages i Designated as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Gourdon is such a charming little town.
A surprising number of shops exist up and down the streets.
Gourdon is nicknamed “Eagles Nest,” as it is perched atop a high, rocky outcrop. The village overlooks the Valley of the Loup, and provides a panoramic view of the Riviera, all the way from Nice to Théoule.
It is definitely worth a visit!
I recently visited Moustiers Sainte Marie, a charm I recently visited Moustiers Sainte Marie, a charming village nestled among the rocky mountains in Provence. I was absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of this place. 😍 The village is full of little shops and restaurants, and the hand made pottery here is absolutely gorgeous.

One of the highlights of my visit was the walk up to the church perched high above the village. It was a bit steep, but the view from the top was breathtaking. I could see the entire village and the surrounding mountains.

Moustiers Sainte Marie is also very close to Lac de Sainte Croix, where you can swim or kayak in the famous green waters. The lake is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed a picnic right on the lake. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

If you're planning a trip to Provence, Moustiers Sainte Marie is a must-see destination. Trust me, you won't regret it.
Located between Nice and Monaco, Eze is a charming Located between Nice and Monaco, Eze is a charming medieval village that is definitely worth a visit.

The village is perched on a hilltop and offers a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a beautiful place to wander around.

One of the highlights of Eze is the botanical garden, which is located at the top of the hill.

The garden boasts a wide variety of exotic plants and flowers, and it is a great place to enjoy the stunning views of the coast.

I visited Eze in April and the botanical garden was quite busy, even though it was still early in the season. However, I managed to take some great pictures despite the crowds. If you're planning on visiting, I recommend going early in the morning or later in the day to avoid the crowds.

If you're looking for a unique and beautiful place to visit on the French Riviera, Eze is definitely worth a trip. 💕

Nestled in the heart of the Luberon region in Prov Nestled in the heart of the Luberon region in Provence, Roussillon is a picturesque village that boasts of stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

What makes this village unique is its vibrant red, yellow and orange hues which come from the ocre quarries in the area.

These quarries were once the source of the natural pigment ochre, which was used to color fabrics and paintings.

Today, you can take a leisurely stroll along the Ochre Trail, a path that winds through the quarries' canyons and cliffs, and marvel at the extraordinary natural beauty of the ochre cliffs.

While in Roussillon, take the time to explore the village's charming streets. You'll find quaint cafes, local artisans' shops, and art galleries that showcase the region's talent.

Definitely put Roussillon on your list of villages to see while in Provence!
Pétanque is a quintessentially French past time. Pétanque is a quintessentially French past time. It is great fun to play, and lots of fun to watch too!

You will find that a lot of villages have a designated area for playing pétanque, like you see here.

If you spot a game going on, take some time to watch. You might even want to join in for the next round! 😁
Lourmarin is one of my favorite villages in the Lu Lourmarin is one of my favorite villages in the Luberon. It is charming and beautiful and has many little shops to keep you occupied.

The main square is a great place to have a beer or glass of wine, and people watch.

There is also a great public playground for the kids, and of course, the château for visiting.

The Friday market is, in my opinion, the best in the area, and rivals even the bigger surrounding town markets.

With a tourist office, restaurants, Boulangerie/Patisserie, Pharmacie, small grocery store, a Tabac, and a large weekly market, it has everything you need to enjoy your stay!

Laying cobblestone streets in Mougins. Isn't this Laying cobblestone streets in Mougins. Isn't this so neat?

First, they cut a stone in half, and then place them with the flat side up to create an even surface. They lay each stone individually, like you see here.

I love that the street is literally hand made. It is so charming. 💕
Cascades du Saut du Loup is a beautiful collection Cascades du Saut du Loup is a beautiful collection of waterfalls near Gourdon.

It is easily accessible, and literally just off of the Route des Gorges du Loup.

The parking lot has about 20 parking spaces. It does have a small restaurant and bathrooms on site, which makes it a convenient stop.

It is totally worth the 1 Euro admission cost.

Definitely a must see!
Provencal Bazaar is a must for me every time I vis Provencal Bazaar is a must for me every time I visit Gordes. It is a little shop that sells authentic Provencal table cloths, skirts and dresses. They carry both kid and adult sizes. Every time I go, I get a set of dresses for my girls.

The owner is friendly, and he loves to chat. The store was opened by his parents, and now he owns and runs it.

Swipe to see some of the dresses on my girls. 🥰

Remember to save this post for your next visit to Gordes!

I love seeing happy cats all over Provence. How lucky are they to live in such a beautiful place?
One of the things that always amazes me when I vis One of the things that always amazes me when I visit Provence is the fact that plants seemingly grow out of nowhere. The climate is so favorable for so many different fruits, vegetables, and flowers, they just flourish!

Look at this fig tree for example. The base is literally growing out of a small space in the cement! It''s crazy!

Not only do they grow anywhere, but they are also productive and healthy!

It is just one more reason Provence is so popular. The climate supports so many beautiful plants.
